Recover
Material is inventoried and collected to be donated on behalf of the owner to Habitat for Humanity. This step includes the recovery of appliances, windows, floors, cabinets, furniture, and sanitary and bathroom fixtures all avoiding the landfill.
Remove
The asbestos in the home is then removed offsite while maintaining the quality of dimensional lumber and floors.
Repurpose
The Drywall, metal, asphalt shingles, exterior siding, and all remaining material are recycled by our team - including the proper recycling of asphalt shingles to NorthStar Recycling Delta- keeping them out of the landfill - this cannot be done when an excavator is crunching the roof with wood and shingles mixed in.
Relocate
Once the framing is left, we start our "Rapid Deconstruction" which is the cutting of the home into large panels and using a flat deck truck with a knuckle-boom crane to lift all walls and floors onto the deck and remove offsite to our "Processing Site" located at the Enterprise Habitat for Humanity location. At this location, the panels are separated into dimensional lumber and shiplap. The material is De-Nailed and donated on behalf of the owner to Habitat for Humanity to sell.
Reprocess
The remaining concrete slab is then removed offsite and dropped off at Lock-Block where they sustainably turn it into more than a thousand products.
Reutilize
Finally, the excavation of the soil occurs.
